Aramark UK are currently recruiting a Chef to join our team working at Redford Barracks, Edinburgh EH13 0PP.


You will be responsible for managing production and food levels to ensure minimal wastage and be supportive of new team members to support them with their learning procedures and standards for all kitchen tasks.

To be eligible for this role, due to the sector requirements:you must have been a UK resident for the past 3 years and have legal right to work in the UK and be able to pass full security vetting and DBS checks.

  • This is a full-time position, £12.50/hour, 35 hours per week, (working pattern, 5 days over 7 including weekends). Shifts are 07:00 – 14:30 and 11:30 – 19:00, leaving your evenings free - a rarity when you work within hospitality.

A day in the life of a Chef:
  • Cooking and preparing food ready for breakfast, lunch and dinner services ensuring minimal wastage following recipe cards.
  • Working collaboratively as part of a team of chefs and acting as a trainer/ coach for new team members to learn procedures and standards (food hygiene and safety) for all kitchen tasks.
  • Assisting with deliveries and stock checks, placing food orders, and maintaining kitchen records.
  • Monitoring and recording temperatures of fridges, freezers, hot cabinets, and serveries. Completing daily paperwork to cover due diligence.
  • Assisting in daily and weekly kitchen deep cleans.
You will be set up for success if you have:
  • Excellent team player and communicator.
  • Basic cooking skills.
  • Resided in the UK for at least the past 3 years to pass security and DBS checks .
  • Flexibility and the ability to innovate.
