Job description

Equans is recruiting for a Chef to join our team at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, EH16 4SA. This is a full-time, permanent role working 37.5 hours per week. The salary offered is £26,000 per annum along with a benefits package.

Shift Pattern:

Monday to Friday, between 7 am and 7 pm, 7.5 hours per day.

This role includes a DS Basic check; therefore, the ability to pass is essential.

What will you deliver?

Reporting to the Head Chef/Senior Chef, you will produce and deliver food that is safe, hygienic, nutritious, and of the highest quality for staff and visitors. The service will comply with food hygiene legislation, the company's Food Safety Policy, the Food Safety Management System (FSMS), and national standards as dictated by government guidelines.

Who are we looking for?

Must have Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene certification, plus Allergen Training from the Food Standards Agency.

Strong background in catering and at least 2 years of experience in a similar role. Demonstrates high professional ethical standards, ability to operate in a fast-paced healthcare environment, and works well in a diverse team. Must be open to direction, able to challenge and debate issues, and look at situations from multiple perspectives. Persuasive with attention to detail. Exhibits strong leadership skills and high comfort working in diverse environments.
