Job description

Shepherd Neame is seeking a part-time Chef to join our kitchen team. If you are a new or aspiring chef looking for a fresh challenge and to develop your career in the kitchen, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

The Old Mill in Kennington, Ashford, is a cozy country pub situated on Canterbury Road, overlooking Dukes Spring, a tributary of the Great Stour River. This Grade II listed building dates back to the early 19th century and is named after the nearby Kennington Mill, of which little remains today. It was previously known as the Golden Ball.

We believe that excellent chefs are essential to a successful kitchen. In this role, you will work as part of our friendly and supportive team to deliver a great dining experience to our customers.

Previous catering experience is beneficial but not required. If you love food, are confident, motivated, and a great team player, we can provide training and teach you everything else you need to know.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?

  • Competitive hourly pay rate
  • A share of tips in addition to your hourly pay
  • Early wage withdrawal scheme
  • 25% discount on food and drink at Shepherd Neame Managed Houses
  • 25% discount on overnight Managed House Hotel bookings
  • Up to 40% discount on select purchases from the Visitor Centre Shop at Faversham
  • Sheps Hut discounts and special offers on hundreds of high street shops and services
  • Access to a Workplace Mental Health Platform
  • Company pension plan
  • Opportunities for development and internal movement within our pubs, brewery, and support offices
  • Flexible working hours
