Job summary

Arup is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our growing team in the UK, with opportunities in Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield or Manchester. You will lead and deliver complex water, river and civil engineering projects, managing programmes, budgets and risks while mentoring engineers and building client relationships.

You will contribute to technical leadership, bid support and the growth of the team, embracing digital tools and innovative delivery methods to drive sustainable outcomes for water

Qualifications

• Chartered or near-Chartered status.
• Strong experience delivering water and river engineering projects.
• Proven project management and team leadership experience.
• Excellent client and contractor liaison skills.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary projects and developing junior engineers.
• Strong technical judgement and a practical, solutions-focused approach.
• An interest in digital innovation and improving project delivery.
• Experience in contract administration and undertaking Principal Designer duties under the CDM Regulations would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver complex water, river and civil engineering projects.
• Manage project programmes, budgets, resources and risks from feasibility through to completion.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams and supervise, develop and mentor engineers.
• Provide technical leadership, including design review and quality assurance.
• Build strong working relationships with Clients, Contractors and stakeholders.
• Develop and evaluate engineering options, delivering practical and sustainable solutions.
• Drive digital improvements and more efficient ways of working.
• Support tenders, proposals and business development.
• Contribute to the wider leadership and growth of the engineering team.
