Job description

Are you a Chartered Transport Planner looking for a new role? This opportunity allows you to develop the Transport Planning team in Manchester and work on exciting projects across the Northwest.

This position involves building relationships with internal and external clients to secure work, including collaborating closely with the Associate Transport Planner to develop the team.

The role:

  • Undertaking and developing Site Access Appraisals
  • Preparing Transport Statements, Transport Assessments, Design and Access Statements, Transport input into Environmental Assessments and Travel Plans
  • Developing concept designs for highways schemes, including access and junction improvements
  • Mentoring junior team members
  • Developing client relationships
  • Producing fee proposals
  • Supporting associates in seeking new opportunities
  • Resourcing, financial monitoring, and reporting
  • Building strong relationships across various professions within the company

Qualifications and experience needed:

  • Proven experience in a Transport Planning consultancy, with confidence in presenting to clients
  • Chartered Transport Planning Professional or Chartered Engineer certification by the Engineering Council
  • Strong practical knowledge of LinSig, Junctions 9, and preferably TRACC or similar tools
  • Good understanding of relevant local and national policies and guidance
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and methodical
  • Ability to prioritise and work under tight deadlines
  • Pragmatic problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for building relationships at all levels
  • Ability to manage client expectations
