Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Senior/Principal Ports and Maritime Engineer to join our UK team, delivering critical infrastructure within the Defence sector. The role supports a hybrid working model across multiple UK sites, with office work in Glasgow/Edinburgh/ Bristol/Reading and occasional travel.

You will lead civil, structural and maritime design efforts, produce high-quality deliverables, mentor early-career engineers, and work with clients to ensure safety, quality and constructability across the

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience in civil and structural design using British Standards and Eurocodes.
• Proven ports/maritime or heavy civil engineering experience.
• Ability to translate complex issues into practical engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Produce and review high-quality technical deliverables across civil, structural, geotechnical, seismic and maritime disciplines.
• Support project scope, programme, budget and resources with multidisciplinary teams.
• Mentor and develop early-career engineers and promote knowledge sharing.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and constructability standards.
