Job Description:

Our client, an international consultancy, is recruiting for a Chartered Senior Bridge Engineer to join their Manchester office, which comprises 74 engineers across various disciplines. They are seeking professionals with technical design and project leadership experience to join their Bridge Structures team.

The role involves working on a variety of bridge projects, including frameworks such as the National Highways Major Projects, the SDF Framework, and local authority schemes. Current major projects include the Loon Gorge with 11 new bridge structures, and there may be opportunities to work on Rail Bridge Structures with Network Rail.

As a Senior Bridge Engineer, you will play a key role in the detailed design of bridge structures using software like MIDAS, LUSAS, and Superstress. You will lead small teams of engineers and technicians, managing and delivering technical outputs.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct engineering services such as scheme investigation, inspections, data analysis, feasibility studies, and detailed design.
2. Manage technical delivery of project teams.
3. Act as Lead Designer for team projects.
4. Promote technical excellence and innovation.
5. Support value engineering and management to ensure innovative scheme delivery.
6. Implement improvements to SHEQ standards across projects.
7. Check and certify design deliverables, including drawings, reports, and specifications.
8. Contribute to proposals for new work.
9. Ensure project delivery aligns with health, safety, and risk management systems.
10. Mentor and develop team members' skills and careers.
11. Promote health and safety awareness and compliance.
