Job summary

T.E.D Recruitment Ltd seeks a Chartered Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager (MRICS) to join a Birmingham-area practice working on high-value residential, education, healthcare and commercial projects, including cladding remediation for large buildings.

Role suits a QS with project-management interest or a PM with cost-management experience, with proven cost control, contract administration and procurement skills, and experience with JCT contracts.

Qualifications

• MRICS qualified Quantity Surveyor or Project Manager with cost management experience.
• Experience of working with a consulting/PQS firm.
• Experience with cost control, contract administration, procurement and tendering, plus financial reporting across the project lifecycle.
• Ability to perform both pre- and post-contract work.
• Proficiency with JCT contracts and organizing meetings with minutes.

THE ROLE

My client seeks a Chartered Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager who is from recently MRICS qualified to join them in their office in Birmingham area.

Projects are generally of high value and there is a particular need currently for people to work on cladding remediation projects for large residential buildings along with other residential, education, healthcare and some commercial projects.

You will either be a Quantity Surveyor with an interest in project management or you may be a Project Manager who has a good handle on the cost management side of projects.

THE COMPANY

My client is a long established busy firm of multi disciplinary consultants with several offices.

THE CANDIDATE

You will either be an MRICS qualified Quantity Surveyor with an interest in Project Management or a Project Manager with some experience of cost management.

You must have experience of working with another firm of consultants / PQS.

You need to have experience of cost control, contract administration, procurement and tendering along with financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

You must be able to do both pre and post contract work.

You should have used JCT contracts.

You need to be able to do contract administration, organise meetings, take minutes etc.

You will ideally be keen to do a mix of quantity surveying and project management.

You should have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken to deal with people at all levels.

Salary is in the region of £45000 to £65000 negotiable plus benefits including pension, life assurance, interest free season ticket loan, healthcare cash plan and more.
