Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior Civil/Structural Engineer to lead and mentor on safety-critical infrastructure projects in the UK. You will deliver complex structural solutions, perform seismic and dynamic analyses, and ensure regulatory compliance across NEC/RIBA contract frameworks.

Client-facing consultancy experience is highly valued. The role requires a Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and chartership with ICE or IStructE, with proficiency in Robot, Ansys, Abaqus, and Tekla.

Requirements

• A master’s degree (or higher) in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related discipline
• Chartership with the Institute of Civil Engineers or Structural Engineers
• A desire to work on technically challenging, safety-critical infrastructure projects
• An interest in or experience with client-facing consultancy work
• A collaborative growth mindset and willingness to work across disciplines
• Demonstrable technical experience in the following:
• Code-based assessment (e.g., Eurocode, ASCE, AISC standards)
• Use of structural tools (e.g., Robot, Ansys, Abaqus, Tekla, etc.)
• Seismic or dynamic structural analysis
• Impact/Blast/fire modelling and substantiation
• Hazard Analysis and Requirement quantification
• Authoring or approval roles for Safety Case documentation
• Geotechnical design or site assessments
• Understanding of Inspection regimes and CDM compliance
• Experience working with and delivering to NEC/RIBA contracts and drafting relevant documentation
