An employee-owned engineering consultancy in Cardiff is seeking a Chartered Principal Civil Engineer to lead design delivery programmes and mentor a team. Qualifications

  • Chartered or working towards chartered status under a recognized institution.
  • Experience in resource utilization and project management.
  • Comfortable leading design teams and liaising with authorities.

Responsibilities

  • Mentoring other engineers and technicians in project development.
  • Delivering projects within budget and ensuring project coordination.

Job description

We have an opening for an ideally Chartered Principal Civil Engineer to join an employee-owned and award-winning engineering consultancy. This position is based out of their Cardiff office, working on a variety of infrastructure projects. You’ll be part of a team with 10+ UK offices, striving for happy people delivering innovative and sustainable work for satisfied clients, while enhancing the world around them.

The role

  • Leading design delivery programmes, ensuring that the project team is in communication, and schedules and resources are planned appropriately.
  • Supporting and mentoring other engineers and technicians in the development of design and project information.
  • Developing delivery programmes, ensuring project coordination, and delivering projects within budget.

What you need to succeed

  • You will be chartered or actively working towards chartered status under a recognized professional institution.
  • Experience in effective resource utilization, project management, and client relationships.
  • Experience in concept and detailed design for Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS).
  • Comfortable leading design teams and liaising with authorities.
  • Good knowledge of Civil 3D for drainage networks.
  • Extensive experience in SuDS, FRA's, and engaging with Local Drainage Authorities, including leading civil design projects.
  • Experience engaging with SAB Authorities and designing SuDS in Wales is beneficial.
