Job summary

PM Consultancy in Manchester invites a Chartered Building Surveyor to join its growing team. The role covers a broad range of professional and project-based Building Surveying across commercial, public sector and institutional portfolios.

You will contribute to developing the new Building Surveying team, establish technical standards, and support long-term growth of the service in the UK, with a hybrid working model.

Qualifications

• MRICS Chartered status or working towards it.
• Degree in Building Surveying or related construction discipline.
• Broad experience in a Building Surveying consultancy environment.
• Strong knowledge of construction technology and pathology.
• Experience with condition surveys, PPM surveys and due diligence.
• Experience preparing Schedules of Condition and Dilapidations.
• Experience managing refurbishment or reinstatement projects.
• Good knowledge of JCT contracts and contract administration.
• Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and CDM regulations.
• Experience across commercial, public sector or institutional projects is advantageous.
• Ability to manage multiple client instructions and hold driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a broad range of professional and project-based Building Surveying services.
• Undertake surveys including condition, measured and PPM surveys.
• Provide advice on defects, remedial works and maintenance needs.
• Undertake technical due diligence inspections and write client reports.
• Prepare Schedules of Condition and Dilapidations and project specifications.
• Manage refurbishment, maintenance or reinstatement projects from start to completion.
• Act as Contract Administrator and Employer's Agent on projects.
• Administer JCT and other UK contracts and liaise with clients and teams.
• Support feasibility studies, scoping and technical due diligence for clients.
• Develop client relationships and contribute to growing the Building Surveying service.
