ABOUT THE ROLE

The role involves being a Chartered Building Surveyor, undertaking a wide range of instructions across the building consultancy discipline, including project management, contract administration, dilapidations, landlord and tenant advice, pre-acquisition surveys, and technical due diligence on commercial properties.

This position involves direct client liaison and management, emphasizing relationship development within the sector that will last a career.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Business generation and fee income development.
  2. Monitoring correspondence and inquiries, managing urgent matters.
  3. Attending events and promoting the department and firm.
  4. Working commercially to ensure profitability.
  5. Meeting fee income and instruction targets.
  6. Managing billing and fee reporting.
  7. Maintaining and growing client relationships.
  8. Developing personal profile within the market.
  9. Project management and contract administration.
  10. Preparation of drawings (AutoCAD preferable but not essential).
  11. Preparation of specifications.
  12. Handling party walls, dilapidations, landlord and tenant advice.
  13. Pre-acquisition surveys and technical due diligence.
  14. Producing and checking Schedules of Condition, defect analysis, and building pathology reports.
  15. Understanding Health and Safety legislation and CDMC.
  16. Producing Reinstatement Cost Assessments.

  • RICS qualified.

  • Basic understanding of JCT Contracts.
  • Knowledge of components of commercial buildings and construction elements.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, and numeracy.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team loyalty and flexibility.
  • Professional demeanor in promoting the firm.
