Job summary

Ridge and Partners LLP is seeking a Chartered Building Surveyor to join our London team. The role involves splitting time between our headquarters in London and client sites, delivering professional surveying services across diverse national property portfolios.

You will mentor junior colleagues, support BD activities, and work closely with clients, contractors and other consultants to manage projects and finances effectively.

Qualifications

• MRICS membership required or eligible.
• Experience advising on commercial, retail or education sector properties.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; NBS Chorus experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed project briefs with clients and senior colleagues.
• Build and maintain client relationships.
• Support business development activities within the team.
• Produce designs and specifications, including tender documentation.
• Administer JCT building contracts.
• Deliver surveying services: condition surveys, defect analysis, party wall, dilapidations, reinstatement cost assessments.
• Mentor junior team members and support team growth.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors and other consultants.
• Assist Team Leader with project financial management.

Due to our continued success and growth, we are looking for a Chartered Building Surveyor to join our building surveying team in London.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with prestigious clients across a variety of sectors while developing your career within a growing team.

What You'll Do

You'll split your time between our headquarters in London and client sites, giving you a varied role with a mix of office-based and project work.

Working closely with key client accounts, you'll provide professional advice and technical support across diverse national property portfolios. As the team grows, you'll also have the opportunity to support and mentor junior colleagues, helping them develop their skills and manage project workloads.

Your Responsibilities

As a Chartered Building Surveyor, you will:

• Develop detailed project briefs alongside clients and senior colleagues.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Support business development activities within the team.
• Produce designs and specifications, including tender documentation.
• Administer Joint Contracts Tribunal (JCT) building contracts.
• Deliver a broad range of professional surveying services, including:
• Condition surveys
• Defect analysis
• Party wall consultancy
• Dilapidations
• Reinstatement cost assessments
• Work closely with clients, contractors and other consultants.
• Support the Team Leader with project financial management.
• Help mentor and develop junior team members as the team continues to grow.

What We're Looking For

To succeed in this role, you'll have:

• Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).
• Experience advising on commercial, retail or education sector properties within either the public or private sector.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Experience using NBS Chorus, although this is not essential.
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the UK.
