We are launching a new business unit focused on delivering specialist accountancy and tax services to early-stage, high-growth start-ups. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded Chartered Accountant to take a joint leadership role in shaping, scaling, and leading this venture. The role is ideal for a technically good chartered accountant that thrives in entrepreneurial environments, understands the unique needs of start-ups, and wants to play a hands-on role in building a forward-looking advisory service from the ground up.
As Joint Head of the Start-up Advisory Unit, you will be responsible for co-leading the strategic direction and operational delivery of services to start-up clients. This includes providing scale up services, improving systems and processes, overseeing statutory accounts, tax compliance, helping with EMI, EIS, R&D etc.
You’ll play a key role in designing scalable processes, building a high-performing team, and embedding cloud-based, tech-enabled tools to enhance efficiency and value delivery. You’ll also act as a trusted adviser to founders, helping them navigate growth challenges, investor expectations, and financial complexity with confidence. The role combines leadership, client-facing work, and commercial development, offering significant autonomy and the potential for equity participation in the unit's long-term success.
