Job summary

Altum Consulting is seeking an Interim Charity Year-End Accountant to support a well-established international charity during a busy year-end period. You will oversee month-end and year-end accounting processes, donor reporting and financial controls across international operations.

The role involves coordinating a UK team and overseas offices, providing technical guidance and supporting audits. Flexible remote working with a London office option; 3–4 months, starting in early December.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with extensive charity experience and SORP knowledge.
• Proven donor reporting and year-end accounting experience.
• Experience supporting audits in a complex charity environment.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to analyse financial data.
• Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills; able to coordinate multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee month-end and year-end accounting for international operations.
• Prepare donor financial reporting and ensure financial controls are robust.
• Coordinate UK and overseas finance teams to meet deadlines.
• Support year-end audit processes with schedules and auditor queries.
• Provide technical guidance on accounting practices across the organisation.
• Identify improvements to processes and controls as needed.
