Job description

We’re looking for safe pairs of hands, ‘i’ dotters and ‘t’ crossers. Sound like you? As a Trustee, you’ll be part of a dynamic team working together to make Scouts operate like a well-oiled machine. From managing money to checking meeting places are in tip-top condition, you’ll make sure everything is set up properly, so that young people have the best experience in Scouts. Trustees see the big picture, make decisions and work together. As a team, you’ll ensure that everything’s being done safely and legally, as well as connecting Scouts with your local community. Oh, and it’s fine if you’ve not been a Trustee before. We’ll support you, making sure you learn everything you need to know, as you go.

The role involves:

  1. Making all payments for the Group
  2. Managing all the income and expenditure of the Group through its online banking systems and general banking.
  3. Completing formal accounts and end of year accounts including submission for review.
  4. Setting and monitoring the annual budget in conjunction with the Chair, Group Lead Volunteer & Secretary.
  5. Attending committee meetings and financial meetings (5-6 per year)
  6. Familiarity with excel spreadsheets for the accounting and O365 for email and file storage and sharing.
