Job description

Role: Full time Charity Shop Donations DRIVER

Requirements: Full UK Driving License for driving a company van.

Based out of WATFORD donation warehouse but travelling around London to charity stores dropping off and collecting donations.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Collections & Deliveries
  2. To collect donations in a manner to act as an ambassador for our Charity Shops
  3. To deliver stock to the warehouse from donor’s homes and to/from the retail units
  4. To clear rubbish from shops in the van, as required
  5. To work (when needed) within the warehouse assisting the warehouse Supervisor and staff, as required
  6. To assist in sorting of stock, as required
  7. To be aware of the working organisation of the retail units and warehouse and the function of other members of staff, in so far as it affects your role
  8. To offload stock from the van and fill the van as required
Legislative Compliance
  1. To ensure safe working practices are adhered to at all times
  2. To abide by all legal requirements regarding using a mobile phone whilst driving
  3. To advise the Warehouse Supervisor of any issues that might affect safe working practice
Trading Standards and Health & Safety
  1. To ensure collected donations meet Trading Standards requirements
  2. To work within the requirements of our Charity Shops Health and Safety Guidelines
  3. To ensure vans are in a safe and roadworthy condition, completing roadworthy check sheets as required. To keep vans clean and tidy at all times.
  4. To drive in a safe manner and maintain a positive reputation for All Aboard by avoiding poor driving or rudeness to other road users
Paperwork
  1. Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries and collections according to organisation policies
  2. Keep records of mileage, fuel consumption, and other vehicle-related purchases
Security
  1. Ensure the security of our charity’s property and donations
Timekeeping
  1. Be punctual
  2. Be willing to work additional hours if needed, such as during unforeseen circumstances like traffic jams
Annual Review
  1. Participate in annual and other employment reviews
Training and Development
  1. Attend training courses and team meetings as required
Requirement for a DBS Check
  1. Agree to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
Company Tablets and Mobile Phones
  1. These will be issued to all drivers, and you will be responsible for these items on behalf of the business
