Job description

**Home-based, with occasional travel to central Birmingham**

**Part time or full time**

The Stan Bowley Trust was founded in memory of Stan Bowley, who was treated with CyberKnife radiotherapy — a cutting-edge, non-invasive cancer treatment that changed his life. Today, the Trust works to improve awareness, access, and funding for CyberKnife treatment across the UK.

We are committed to supporting cancer patients and their families by providing information, raising vital funds for advanced treatment options, and advocating for greater availability of innovative therapies. Our work is dedicated to giving people hope and choices at some of the most challenging times of their lives.

This flexible, part-time or full time role is ideal for a self-motivated individual who is passionate about making a tangible difference.

What we need from you to apply:

  • Experience in fundraising, sales, or community engagement
  • Strong communication and networking skills
  • Good geographical knowledge of the North Birmingham area
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities remotely
  • A good level of computer skills
  • A flexible approach, with the ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Full driving licence and access to own transport including business/commercial insurance

Desirable:

  • Experience in event planning and delivery
  • Understanding of grant application processes
  • Knowledge of GDPR and fundraising regulations
  • Familiarity with using CRM databases (training can be provided)

What the role involves:

You will play a key role in securing vital income streams, building lasting relationships with supporters, and delivering creative fundraising initiatives. Duties include:

  • Fundraising Strategy: Develop, implement, and monitor innovative fundraising strategies and campaigns to meet agreed income targets.
  • Event Management: Organise, coordinate, and deliver charity fundraising events (both virtual and in-person), managing logistics, budgets, volunteers, and post-event evaluations.
  • Supporter Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, community groups, and other stakeholders, ensuring excellent stewardship.
  • Grant Applications: Research and submit compelling funding applications to trusts, foundations, and other bodies.
  • Digital and Community Fundraising: Plan and manage online fundraising campaigns, appeals, and community fundraising activities.
  • Reporting and Evaluation: Provide regular reports on fundraising performance to the Charity Coordinator, analysing successes and areas for development.
  • Marketing and Communications Support: Collaborate on the creation of newsletters, social media content, and promotional materials to support fundraising campaigns.
  • Gift Aid Management: Maximise income by ensuring eligible donations are processed for Gift Aid.
  • Database and Compliance: Maintain accurate donor records in line with GDPR and best practice fundraising standards.

Salary: £13.15 per hour. Hours: Working 24 - 40 hours per week to be negotiated, flexible, to include some evenings and weekends. Bonuses are also paid for reaching targets.
