Job summary

Phoenix Domestic Abuse Services is seeking a Finance Officer to join its team at Phoenix House, Blaina. You will manage day-to-day finances, process invoices and income, and support bank reconciliations, credit control and year-end preparation to help the charity deliver support to those affected by domestic abuse.

You will work with the CEO, Board of Trustees and colleagues to maintain accurate records, handle budgets for projects and respond to finance queries with integrity and discretion.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a finance or bookkeeping role with strong numeracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage a varied workload.
• Experience with Xero and understanding of VAT and charity finance (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Process purchase and sales invoices and expenses using Xero.
• Process income and investigate variances and queries.
• Support supplier payments and petty cash transactions.
• Assist monthly bank reconciliations.
• Assist year-end accounts preparation and audits.
• Maintain debtors list and assist credit control.
• Prepare budgets for new projects.
• Produce regular finance reports for the CEO and Board.
• Maintain organised records and respond to finance queries.
