Job summary

Kenneth Brian Associates is supporting a Weybridge-based charity by recruiting a Finance Manager to lead day-to-day financial operations and ensure robust controls. You will partner with the CEO, trustees and teams to deliver accurate financial information and strategic insight.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a finance management or senior finance role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls.
• Experience preparing management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach.
• Strong Excel and accounting-system skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues and trustees.
• The ability to work independently, prioritise effectively and meet deadlines.
• Experience of working within the charity sector and knowledge of charity accounting would be advantageous.
• A relevant accountancy qualification (AAT/ACCA/CIMA/ACA) would be desirable, although QBE experience will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Managing the charity's day-to-day finance function.
• Maintaining accurate accounting records and financial systems.
• Preparing monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
• Monitoring income and expenditure and providing financial analysis and advice.
• Managing cash flow and overseeing payments and receipts.
• Preparing financial information and reports for the Board of Trustees and relevant committees.
• Supporting the preparation of the annual budget and year-end accounts.
• Liaising with external accountants and auditors.
• Ensuring appropriate financial controls, policies and procedures are in place.
• Managing payroll and pension administration, where applicable.
• Supporting grant and restricted-fund accounting and reporting.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant charity, financial and regulatory requirements.
• Providing financial guidance and support to colleagues across the organisation.
