Overview

Working within the Gallagher Care and Charity Division, responsible for managing and developing relationships with allocated clients. Collaborate closely with Account Managers to provide exceptional service to both new and existing clients by advising on and securing appropriate cover to meet their demands and needs, seeking growth opportunities, and achieving profitable renewal retention and growth. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, combining remote work with regular office attendance as agreed based on location.

How you'll make an impact

  • Serve as the main point of contact for assigned clients, building and maintaining strong relationships. Conduct regular meetings to understand their insurance and risk management needs, preferences, and expectations.
  • Maintain overall responsibility for the client’s relationship with Gallagher.
  • Identify and capitalize on new business and growth opportunities to drive sales and expansion.
  • Develop revenue through insurance programs and broader client service offerings.
  • Obtain and maintain risk information, including fact finds, survey reports, site photos, and insurer surveys.
  • Review claims experience and advise clients on trends, effects, and risk management strategies.
  • Assist in broking where appropriate and handle internal and external queries from colleagues or underwriters.
  • Coordinate with wider team resources such as claims, risk management, and marketing.
  • Present terms, deliver new business or renewal reports, obtain client instructions, and close deals with the Account Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with FCA regulations, Gallagher policies, procedures, and quality standards. Report any complaints, errors, or omissions promptly to protect Gallagher’s reputation.
  • Adhere to the Gallagher UK Professional Standards Manual.
  • Maintain and update knowledge of insurance products, services, and markets as developments occur.
  • Build and maintain a network of contacts in internal and external markets.
  • Cultivate a positive, respectful work culture promoting teamwork, especially with Account Managers.
  • Conduct coaching, training, and knowledge sharing to benefit the wider team.

About You

  • Good understanding of insurance principles, coverage, terms, and conditions of risk types transacted.
  • Knowledge of the requirements of niche sectors in which we operate.
  • Understanding of insurance laws and their impact on advice and client programs.
  • Risk-aware with strong planning, analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients, insurers, team members, and management.
  • Authentic communication skills suitable for varying audiences.
  • Ability to ask relevant questions to identify client needs.
  • Adept at negotiating to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Professional, empathetic, maintaining confidentiality and integrity at all times.
  • Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset, able to work within a team to achieve priorities and motivate others.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, capable of multi-tasking within a regulated framework to meet SLAs.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Acturis, and Gallagher applications (Gallagher application knowledge can be developed).
  • Aligned with Gallagher’s vision, values, and strategy.
  • Willingness to achieve Cert CII as a minimum; higher insurance qualifications are desirable.
  • Maintain appropriate CPD requirements.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
  • Willing to travel to client sites and Gallagher offices as required.
  • Proactive in lead management and follow-up.
  • Excellent planning and analytical skills.
  • Comfortable and credible at decision-maker level.
  • Continually builds and sustains a network managing relationships.
