THE FIRM

A highly regarded central London firm with a strong charity and social enterprise team.

THE ROLE

For a Charities Lawyer with a commercial law background, to be responsible for providing legal advice and solutions to charities, not-for-profits, and educational institutions on a range of matters, including:

  • Formation and incorporation of charities
  • Mergers, collaborations, and joint ventures
  • Advising senior management teams, boards of governors, and trustees
  • Drafting and reviewing commercial contracts and agreements
  • Advising on data protection and wider charity law and education-related matters

Job responsibilities

  • Advise on charity formation, mergers, collaborations, and joint ventures
  • Counsel senior management teams, boards, and trustees on governance and legal matters
  • Draft and review commercial contracts and agreements related to fundraising
  • Provide guidance on data protection, charity law, and education-related issues
  • Partner with the Head of Charities to deliver the department's strategy and improve processes
  • Develop a specialised area of expertise within the Charities/Not-for-Profit sector

ABOUT YOU

With 4pqe+ and preferably with a commercial law background, you should have proven experience in all aspects of charities law.
