An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 5 nurse to join the ward leadership team as a charge nurse within the hospital division acute wards at Highgate Mental Health Centre, West Wing. We are looking to recruit a compassionate, qualified, creative, and motivated nurse to help deliver crucial care.
All applicants must have at least 1 year of post-registration experience. The successful candidate will be provided with a clear development and support plan to maximize learning within the role and gain exposure to ward leadership and learning opportunities. As a charge nurse of the female ward, the post holder will be committed to working with trauma-informed care models and approaches.
Topaz Ward is a 17-bedded female acute ward based at Highgate Mental Health Centre, West Wing. We seek a charge nurse with the capacity and drive to lead the ward through essential change processes.
The post holder will support ward/unit management and deputize for the Ward/Unit Manager as required. They will carry out duties under the direction of the Ward/Unit Manager and provide clinical supervision and support to an identified staff group. The post holder will regularly take charge of the ward and manage the team in the absence of the Ward Manager. They will work within a multidisciplinary team framework to deliver care to patients within the acute setting.
They will act as a primary/associate nurse for a group of patients, assessing, planning, delivering, and evaluating care. The post holder will promote person-centered care and ensure all care plans reflect this approach. They will also teach and supervise others, including newly qualified and unqualified staff.
