Job description


We are seeking an experienced Neonatal Senior Nurse to join and lead our team at our Southend Hospital site.

The appointed Neonatal Senior Nurse will be required to Initiate, evaluate and maintain a high standard of care, ensuring that it is evidence based and compliant with best practice recommendations for NICU services

This post would suit a qualified Neonatal Nurse that is compassionate, a patient advocate and an effective role model who always strives to deliver excellent patient care.

Within the role you will be:
• Responsible for leading in the assessment of care needs the development, implementation and evaluation of care.
• To manage and lead the nursing team and other staff in the clinical area assuring the highest standards of clinical care
• To ensure effective communication between members of the multidisciplinary team to facilitate continuity of care and to promote effective team working.
• To manage standards of care ensuring family involvement is encouraged.
• To manage the provisions of high quality service for patients on a continuous basis.
• Liaise with members of the multidisciplinary team
• To ensure effective supervision of clinical & non-clinical risk reporting to the Neonatal Unit Manager
• Work closely with the Neonatal Unit matron to lead the clinical development of the unit and the Trust’s nursing strategy.
