Job summary

Job description
Responsibilities

To provide sound professional leadership to staff at band 5 grade level and below.

Work closely with the Department senior sister / charge nurse and provide a support mechanism for them.

Ensure that all activities in the area are carried out within Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Trust policy guidelines.

Promote the objectives of the Trust's Vision and Philosophy for Nursing.

Ensure that all duties are carried out in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

Assist in the implementation of national improvement initiatives and targets: 4 hour target, The NHS Plan, National Service Frameworks, Essence of Care and clinical governance.

Take charge of patients' care in the Resuscitation area and across all areas of the department.

Qualifications

You will need to be a clinical expert within the speciality of ED nursing, have the ability to lead, manage, guide and direct others, and work closely within the ED and wider Multidisciplinary teams within the Trust.
