A leading healthcare provider is seeking a passionate Senior Nurse for their Cardiothoracic Critical Care Unit in Basildon. This role involves leading a multidisciplinary team to provide world-class care to patients post-cardiothoracic surgery. The successful candidate will have significant responsibilities in patient care, unit management, and mentorship, ensuring high standards of clinical practice and a conducive learning environment.
Are you looking for your next rewarding challenge? Due to the expansion of our services, Colne ward, our Cardiothoracic Critical Care Unit within the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre, is seeking a passionate Senior Nurse to support our growing team.
This tertiary centre, based at Basildon Hospital and part of the Mid and South Essex NHS Trust, boasts some of the most modern cardiothoracic treatment facilities in the country. It was purpose-built to accommodate advanced operating theatres and cardiology treatment rooms, providing world-class care.
Our Centre cares for patients post-cardiothoracic surgery and those undergoing cardiology procedures, employing a multidisciplinary team approach including nurses, medical staff, physiotherapists, dietitians, and HCAs.
We also provide emergency services for cardiology and surgical emergencies, receiving patients directly from ambulance crews, including cases of aortic dissections and out-of-hospital cardiac arrests.
As Charge Nurse, you will work as a skilled member of the Cardiothoracic Critical Care team, including cardiothoracic recovery, to lead and assist in patient and family care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation following the care pathway.
You will maintain effective unit management and organizational skills, lead the creation of a conducive learning environment, and support less experienced team members through guidance and teaching.
Your role will involve practicing with increased autonomy and responsibility for clinical decision-making, supported by care pathways, protocols, and patient group directives.
