Avocet Ward are looking for a Band 6 Charge Nurse to work as part of our passionate, service provision focused team.
You will also be joining a friendly, motivated and enthusiastic team who are on their journey to outstanding. Avocet is located at the Woodlands
Unit on the Ipswich Hospital site and is an all female acute inpatient service. Our dedicated service provides 19 beds for individuals with various mental health related difficulties.
Within our multi disciplinary team patients have access to psychology, art therapy, occupational therapy and other activities available on the ward.
Our nursing team consists of experienced nurses and clinical support workers who are dedicated to their patients, to ensure they receive good
and consistent care during their admission. Following on from discharge, patients will have access to community teams and activities within the
community to continue their recovery.
You will also be required to work shifts across a 24-hour period in order to meet the needs of the service and actively participate in a 24 hour site
management rota for the Woodlands Unit through our daily Operational Huddle.
You will work supportively and collaboratively with the Clinical Team Leader and Clinical Nurse Specialist ensuring the effective management of the ward in all respects, environmental, financial and clinical in so far as this relates to nursing practice.
Your duties will also include the planning and delivery of direct patient care with appropriate supervision, ensuring continuity of practice and
working within a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency environment.
As part of collaborative working amongst Senior Nurses you will be expected to provide a clinical lead to staff in various areas of practice,
adhering to the philosophy and clinical skills base of the unit.
You will monitor nursing practice on a day to day basis and ensure that nursing compliments the practice of other professionals.
You will work towards implementing reviews and changes in practice at the discretion of the Clinical Team Leader.

This update service is an annual subscription at a cost of £16 to you. This will enable the Trust to have instant online access to your DBS record, with your consent, and so will remove the need for you to have to apply for this repeat check again.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
