Job summary

Elysium Healthcare is seeking a Charge Nurse to motivate, support and manage a team of nurses in a low secure/rehabilitation setting. You will lead the nursing team caring for adults with learning disabilities and comorbid mental health needs, ensuring smooth daily operations and high-quality care.

With NHS or private care background, you will supervise, delegate and coordinate care, ensuring effective communication with other healthcare professionals.

What you will be doing

With previous experience from the NHS or private care, you will oversee and provide high-quality care and support to people in a low secure/rehabilitation setting, while supporting your team and colleagues and promote good teamwork. As a Charge Nurse, you’ll lead and coordinate the quality and management of nursing care and delivering of clinical services, ensuring the day-to-day operations of your unit is performing well. You'll also;

• Delegate nursing tasks to Nurses working in the unit and coordinate with other teams
• Monitor service users’ conditions and respond to changes
• Supervise other members within the team's unit and provide guidance and support
• Make critical decisions regarding service user assignments, staff scheduling, and resource allocation
• Be liaison between nursing staff and other healthcare professionals, with effective communication and collaboration

Where you will be working

Location: Cefn Carnau Lane, Thornhill, Caerphilly, South Wales, CF83 1LX

You will be working at Cefn Carnau; a low secure/rehabilitation service for adults with a primary diagnosis of a learning disability who may also present with mental illness, personality disorders and an autistic spectrum condition.

The programmes provided at the service, include a sex offender treatment programme, anger management, trauma therapy, art psychotherapy together with bespoke psychological sessions aimed at people with learning disabilities.
