Job summary

NHS Tayside advertises a 1.0 WTE Charge Nurse position within an Adult Community Mental Health Team. The post requires degree-level education and UK NMC registration.

You will lead a multi-disciplinary nursing team, supervise staff, and deliver person-centred care including psychosocial interventions in home and community settings. The successful candidate will drive practice development, support the Team Leader, and take forward new initiatives in a busy CMHT.

Qualifications

• Must be registered on Sub-Part 1:RN3 or RNMH of the UK NMC Register.
• Educated to degree level or able to evidence comparable experience.
• Will lead and manage day-to-day work of the Nursing Team within CMHS.

As the successful applicant, you will have extensive experience of working with people with a wide range of mental health problems; have specialist clinical knowledge of best practice in Mental Health Nursing and will be an excellent example to your colleagues in the delivery of holistic person centred care. As a Charge Nurse, you will exhibit strong leadership and management skills, will influence and develop practice and will take forward new initiatives within a busy multi-disciplinary team.

The individual we are looking to recruit will be educated to degree level or will be able to evidence comparable experience. Clinically you will work in partnership with people to provide psychosocial and psychological interventions, facilitating, enabling and supporting them within their homes and communities. Within Your Charge Nurse role, you will be responsible for leading and managing day to day work of the Nursing Team and will support Team Leader to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, person-centred affordable services for people with severe and/or enduring mental health problems.

There will be a requirement to provide a supervisory role to members of staff within the nursing team, and to fulfil the CMHS Duty Worker role. Working as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team you will demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills as a core component of your role.
