Job description

Who we are

Pragmatic Semiconductor is pioneering flexible semiconductor technology, sustainably deliveringedge and item-level intelligence at scale to bridge our digital and physical worlds

Overview

As a Characterisation Engineer you will play a pivotal pivotal role in the characterisation of Pragmatic Semiconductor’s FlexIC products. This involves working within a small, highly skilled team of engineers who are focused on the development of automated, volume test solutions. Working with colleagues from the adjacent Device and IC Validation teams, the role is centred around the development, execution and optimisation of wafer-level Characterisation test cases and the presentation of Characterisation data to project stakeholders. The successful applicant will work on the development and roll-out of characterisation testing, from planning, design and implementation to the transfer to production and beyond.

Key Areas of Responsibility
  • RF/Analogue Test Design and Implementation – working with internal stakeholders to provide input to validation and production test system design. RF/Analogue skills are also useful for the analysis of some of the measurement data which the team generates.
  • Automation of Characterisation Test Cases– working on the automation of hardware test cases and their integration into Pragmatic’s systems, using a variety of test hardware including test equipment such as SMUs, Oscilloscopes and Function Generator and ATE wafer probers.
  • Communication with Varied Stakeholders – communicating with and working alongside a variety of stakeholders at Pragmatic with the requirement to partner with and present information to technical partners both internal external to the team.
Qualifications and Training
  • A degree in a relevant engineering or scientific subject, or equivalent career experience.
  • Formal training in RF/Analogue design or test, providing a grounding in key concepts. This could be either modules within a degree course or on-the-job training.
  • Evidence that you have actively developed your skillset during your career to date.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Industrial experience in test engineering.
  • RF/Analogue electronics knowledge with demonstrable practical experience of applying that knowledge to solve engineering problems.
  • Experience of software automation with practical experience in at least one common programming language. E.g Python, Labview, C#, C++
  • Excellent communication and interpersonalskills, with the ability tocollaborateeffectively with a diverse range of partners.
Desirable Skillsand Experience
  • Demonstrable, practical experience of designing and implementing test cases in a hardware environment.
  • Experience of data analysis and presentation, with examples of where this has been applied to real-world engineering problems.
  • Experience of software development lifecycle and tools, with experience of working with or as part of Scrum teams.
  • Experience of reviewing hardware designs for volume test environments
