Playground Games is looking for a Character Artist to join our talented Fable team here in Leamington Spa.

ABOUT US:

As a first-party Xbox Game Studio, we are passionate about making genre-defining games that are accessible, beautiful, and, most of all, fun. We are excited to be rebooting the much-loved Fable franchise and are expanding our diverse team to create a new classic in the action RPG genre.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Character Artist at Playground Games, you'll focus on creating realistic characters that resonate with our players. Our ideal candidate is a highly talented and experienced artist who is passionate about their craft, skilled in sculpting human, animal and creature anatomies, realistic clothing and armour and has examples to prove it.

This role is based at our state-of-the-art facilities in Royal Leamington Spa, with a hybrid work model in place. Relocation assistance is available if required.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

1. Craft high-quality 3D character models, drawing inspiration from concept art and real-world references.
2. Collaborate with the Lead and Character Director to maintain consistency across all character designs.
3. Consistently deliver excellent quality work on or ahead of schedule.
4. Engage in creative discussions surrounding characters and their design.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

1. Experience in 3D modeling, texturing, and shading, focusing on character design. Knowledge of human anatomy, clothing, and hair.
2. Familiarity with industry software like Maya, ZBrush, Marvelous Designer, Substance Painter, and game engines like Unreal and Unity. A compelling portfolio showcasing your character art skills.
3. A love for gaming and a desire to create compelling characters.
4. Excellent teamwork and communication skills, ability to manage tasks, meet deadlines, address challenges proactively, and a drive for continuous learning and professional development.
