About you

Would you like to make a positive contribution to benefit older people?

Spiritual wellbeing — rather than religious affiliation or belief — as a universal need, is a cornerstone of MHA's positive approach to aging. We aim to provide the highest quality care and support for older people of all faiths and beliefs.

We are looking for a person responsible for the spiritual, religious, and pastoral life of the home/scheme, who will build good working relationships with local faith communities. A significant proportion of our residents participate in regular Christian worship, which is part of the life of all our homes and schemes. Therefore, alongside an inclusive approach to spirituality, we need a Chaplain who can lead Christian worship. We are seeking someone who is in good standing with their Christian community (a lay person or ordained minister).

An empathetic understanding of the spiritual aspects of aging and dementia, demonstrated through experience of providing pastoral care and leading services, is essential.

In accordance with the Equality Act 2010: Schedule 9, Part 1, there is an Occupational Requirement for the post holder to be a practicing Christian.
