A bit about the role...

To support the Channel Marketing Manager in developing and translating marketing communication strategies into integrated retail marketing plans that can be executed through the Retail Channel at outlet level. To identify, develop and convert opportunities to increase awareness and in-store presentation of our brands throughout the shopper journey in store.

This role is offered on a 6 month fixed-term contract. We operate a hybrid working model and require employees to work from our offices 3 days per week.

What you'll be doing...

  1. Represent the needs of the retail outlets into the wider marketing teams and develop activation plans to be executed at outlet level in Retail
  2. Increase our brand presence in retail outlets for all categories and at all points of purchase by working closely with the Channel Marketing Manager - Retail, the National Account Team, Retail Sales Team and Retail Operations Team to identify and convert key opportunities
  3. Recommend marketing investment priorities for the Retail sector in line with category & retail strategy, generating and filtering ideas with business cases to justify recommendations
  4. Work cross functionally to understand our consumers, category and brand strategy, marketing communications plans and monthly objectives
  5. Develop strategies, plan and tactics for marketing activities to be executed through the retail channel (at outlet level) and update and manage allocated budgets
  6. Understand the UK Retail market, key trends, shopper behaviour, opportunities and constraints and input into strategy for the retail channel
  7. Input into the setting of monthly priorities for the Sales Team and brief retail-facing teams on key requirements
  8. Deliver support, within budget, for New Game launches in the Retail Channel; core kit for all stores and up-weighted kit, where appropriate, for key sectors / accounts
  9. Tailor brand advertising and communication materials where appropriate to maximise support from Retailers, where there is a proven ROI
  10. Ensure relevant marketing materials and POS is produced and sent to the right outlets in line with agreed timescales
  11. Measure the effectiveness of in-store initiatives
  12. Input into budget process and ensure retail channel activities are delivered within agreed budgets

What experience we're looking for...

  1. Demonstrable experience of delivering marketing activation plans in retail
  2. Proven consumer insight based marketing planning
  3. Ability to build cross functional relationships, manage and influence multiple stakeholders
  4. Strong communication and negotiation skills
  5. Attention to detail in managing marketing production and distribution
  6. Proven experience of budget tracking
  7. Extensive knowledge of the retail marketplace

Key Measures of Success:

  1. ROI positive campaign activations delivered in Retail
  2. Upweight activity in targeted sectors/retailers based on insight
  3. Effective presence throughout the shopper journey in store
  4. Activities delivered within planning timelines and budget
