Job description

MCS Group is looking for an experienced Change Manager with Digital Transformation experience to join a large-scale transformation programme within a public sector setting. This pivotal role will lead the design and delivery of business change strategies to ensure successful implementation and adoption of new systems, processes and organisational ways of working.

This is a highly collaborative role requiring strong leadership, interpersonal and analytical skills. The successful candidate will help shape and embed a lasting change culture in a dynamic and evolving organisation

The Role:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive business change and transformation plans.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement activities to assess change readiness and drive adoption.
  • Collaborate with training teams to deliver appropriate change interventions and upskilling.
  • Use data-driven insights to shape decisions, analyse impacts and inform future state design.
  • Ensure governance compliance and embed quality assurance processes.
  • Lead workshops, focus groups and coaching to support organisational readiness and resilience.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of staff and stakeholders, including trade unions.
  • Line manage staff, fostering a positive, high-performing team culture.
  • Monitor and evaluate success of change initiatives and support continuous improvement.

The Person:

  • A relevant degree/professional qualification with 3+ years in a change management role at middle management level or above OR 5+ years' relevant experience in such a role.
  • Demonstrable experience developing and delivering complex change programmes.
  • A track record of effective stakeholder engagement across diverse groups.
  • Project management experience and the ability to deliver organisational development activities.
  • Ability to present and interpret complex information to support strategic decision-making.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to transport (unless exempt under disability provisions, where the applicant has an alternative form of transport, approved by the hiring organisation).

Desirable:

  • A recognised change management qualification.

Starting Salary: £53,755 (paid as a rate per hour, based on 37.5 hours per week)
