About the role

The Change Deployment Manager plays a pivotal role in Royal Mail's transformational change within the delivery function. This individual should possess a comprehensive understanding of the delivery operation, including its systems, processes, operating model, and tools such as geo-route.

Key responsibilities include:
  1. Using the Delivery Revisions process & task-lists to work with the COMs (and during USO, the OPL Change Champion) to deploy optimized revisions that meet quality and timescale requirements, realizing full benefits.
  2. Agreeing roles and responsibilities with all stakeholders upfront to ensure smooth deployment, and raising issues where colleagues are not fulfilling their responsibilities.
  3. Reviewing unit base data and supporting COMs to ensure data accuracy and readiness for sign-off.
  4. Creating optimized duty sets covering indoor and outdoor workloads based on IWT, best methods/layouts, and optimized outdoor routes using GeoRoute.
  5. Leading the deployment of smaller commercial changes, including briefing, communication, and tracking.
  6. Following all nationally agreed processes and agreements relevant to the changes introduced.
  7. Engaging with stakeholders and end-users to ensure effective communication and activity execution.
  8. Highlighting and resolving risks, issues, and barriers to change.
About you

Essential skills and qualifications include:

  • Georoute Practitioner level competency
  • Duty Manager Practitioner level competency
  • Detailed knowledge of delivery systems such as IWT, DDS, model week tool, Route Manager, Floor layout tool, Frame labelling system, and fulfilment process
  • Proficient in QlikView apps, including PDA OA and Delivery Opportunity app
  • Knowledge of IT systems, including Microsoft Office and SharePoint
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills
  • Excellent engagement and communication skills for building relationships and explaining technical outputs
  • Project management skills, including planning, stakeholder management, risk and issue management, and benefit realization
  • Change management skills, including creating awareness, managing resistance, and influencing stakeholders

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the delivery revision process and operational standards within the delivery function
Experience

Candidates should have:

  • In-depth understanding of the operation and experience working within this environment
  • Experience deploying successful operational change
  • Experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, and benefits realization
  • Experience working with trade union representatives and influencing them to agree to changes
