Job summary

Oldbury Smile Spa, a medical dental practice in Oldbury, is seeking a full-time Dental Assistant to support dentists chairside during examinations and procedures. The role includes preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, recording patient information, and maintaining records.

You will also help manage clinical supplies and uphold infection control standards while collaborating with the team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Strong foundational skills in Dental Care, Dentistry, and Oral Care.
• Proficiency in Dental Assisting, including chairside support, patient preparation, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation.
• Knowledge of Sterilization processes and infection control standards to ensure a safe clinical environment.
• Relevant dental assisting qualification or certification, or equivalent experience in a dental practice setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient comfort and professional service.
• Ability to follow detailed clinical instructions, work efficiently in a busy environment, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to maintaining high clinical and hygiene standards.
• Basic computer literacy for managing appointments and updating patient records; CPR or basic life support training is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists chairside during examinations and procedures.
• Prepare treatment rooms and ensure instruments are cleaned, sterilized, and organized.
• Take and record patient information and maintain accurate records.
• Support patients before, during, and after appointments to ensure comfort and confidence.
• Manage stock of clinical supplies and follow infection control protocols.
• Collaborate with the wider practice team to deliver high-quality patient care.
