Job description

The Tax Senior Specialist works hand in hand with the Senior Tax Manager, Finance leaders, the CGS team, and other relevant stakeholders in supporting and executing tax planning strategies, activities, and projects.

The position helps design and formulate tax-saving measures and initiatives for the various companies that may be assigned. This role is the focal point for ADMIN coordination with the various stakeholders including government agencies such as BIR, BOC, PEZA, BOI, etc.

He/She makes sure that all relevant tax matters, filings, and all other related requirements are prepared complete, accurate, and on time.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Participate, develop, and help implement/execute tax planning strategies, activities, and projects for each of the companies of the Group as well as conduct regular tax compliance audits.
  2. Timely cascade new revenue regulations and issuances to facilitate full compliance of the Group.
  3. Lead and coordinate with the Finance Department including the CSG team for compliance with outstanding Letter of Authority/Tax Verification Notice issued by BIR and related agencies.
  4. Represent administratively and coordinate directly with BIR, PEZA, and other government agencies for all tax matters of the Group, including drafting and preparation of related letters and required correspondences.
  5. Computation and filing of the company’s tax returns which includes but is not limited to: Value Added Tax, Expanded Withholding Tax, Withholding Tax on Compensation, Creditable Withholding Tax, Income Tax, Documentary Stamp Tax, etc.
  6. Filing, collating, and archiving of all tax and related documents of assigned OpCos.
  7. Manage coordination with other third-party outsourced services such as SGV, KPMG, PWC, and the like related to tax matters and activities.
  8. All other tasks that may be assigned by the Group Tax Senior Manager.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Taxation, or related Finance courses.
  2. At least 3-5 years of solid work experience in the field of tax compliance reporting.
  3. Knowledge of BIR compliance and financial analysis.
  4. Strategic and highly analytical.
  5. Flexible and independent with minimal supervision.
  6. Excellent communication and organization skills.
  7. Detail-oriented coupled with the ability to start from scratch and learn quickly.
  8. Ability to work under pressure and with time constraints.
  9. Good interpersonal skills and outgoing.
