Marks Sattin Executive Search is partnering with a PE-Backed Multisite Education business to appoint a commercially astute and strategic CFO.

This is a key leadership role, responsible for driving financial performance, supporting growth, and preparing the business for a successful exit, while shaping its journey beyond that milestone.

The CFO must navigate a complex stakeholder environment, engaging regularly with the Board, private equity sponsors, banks, and external stakeholders. The role involves ensuring rigorous financial controls, robust reporting, and full compliance with regulatory and transparency standards, especially those set by public sector partners.

As a central figure in the company's next phase, you will lead the finance function through transformation and expansion, managing daily financial operations, delivering timely reports, and embedding KPIs, governance, and frameworks to support strategic decisions and sustainable growth.

Candidates stepping into their first standalone CFO role within a PE-backed environment are encouraged to apply, particularly those at Divisional Finance Director or Financial Controller level with the right mix of commercial insight, operational rigor, and leadership skills.

Ideal candidates:

• Experience as a divisional Finance Director or Financial Controller in a PE-backed environment, ideally within the consumer services sector or a business serving public sector partners.

• Transactional experience including acquisitions, integrations, consolidations, and successful private equity exits.
• Experience managing multi-site operations and complex stakeholder relationships.
• A hands-on, growth-oriented approach with practical experience in financial change within regulated environments.
