Overview

Marks Sattin Executive Search is partnering with a PE-backed Environmental Services company entering a new phase of stability and operational focus. The company seeks a commercially minded CFO to provide strong financial leadership, drive operational improvements, and support long-term growth.

Reporting to the CEO and collaborating with the senior leadership team and investors, the CFO will shape and execute financial strategy, oversee daily financial management, and enhance controls, reporting, and forecasting. The role emphasizes building financial maturity and supporting both current operations and future planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business goals.
• Oversee financial operations, controls, and reporting functions.
• Streamline systems and processes to improve management information.
• Support the wider team in delivering the business plan.
• Maintain a pragmatic, hands-on approach to professionalize the finance function without over-engineering.

Candidate Profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or ACMA), preferably chartered.
• Experience as a CFO or senior finance leader in a PE-backed or privately owned business, ideally within B2B or services sectors.
• Proven track record in improving financial processes, controls, and reporting.
• Strong commercial awareness and contribution to business planning and decision-making.
• Confident, collaborative leader with excellent communication skills and a pragmatic approach.
