The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will oversee and manage the finance and commercial activities of Bühler UK Ltd., including the Sorting and Rice (SR) business based in the UK and the Sales & Service Organisation Northern Europe (BNEU), operating in the UK, Belgium, and Denmark.
The CFO reports directly to the Head of Region BNEU and the Managing Director of BUKL, with functional reporting to the Head of BU Sorting and Rice Solutions, the Bühler Group CFO Europe, and the Director of Financial & Commercial for the Business Unit Grain Quality and Supply.
The responsibilities of the CFO for BUKL include:
- Strategic Leadership: Being part of the SAS and SR leadership teams, defining and implementing strategies; supporting sub-region and local management with financial and commercial advice; developing the finance function within the business units.
- Operational Leadership: Managing controlling, accounting (including tax), IT, commercial activities, order processing, shipping, facility management, and health & safety; leading finance teams across regions; talent retention and development.
- Financial Reporting & Control: Monthly reporting via OneStream; budgeting, forecasting, and controlling for the business units; financial analysis and performance review; supporting group audits.
- Budgeting & Financial Planning: Leading the budgeting process for BUKL and SR, including local budgets and SAS fees, overheads, and cost calculations.
- Cash Flow & Financing: Managing working capital, cash flow, dividend payments, investments, and invoicing processes.
- Local Compliance: Preparing statutory financial statements; managing audits, tax filings, and pension funds.
- Risk & Control: Maintaining financial control frameworks, risk assessments, and legal document reviews.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Working closely with European SAS (CFO EUR), regional management, and business unit leaders to discuss financial impacts and strategies.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or equivalent; professional qualifications like CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA.
- Extensive leadership experience in FP&A within an international, matrix organization.
- Knowledge of SAP (CO, FI, BW), S/4 is a plus; familiarity with local tax, accounting regulations, and labor law.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills; ability to foster collaboration across functions and regions; excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Leadership qualities, resilience, strategic thinking, and a proactive, hands-on approach.
Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree in management and international business experience.
