For a limited time, MaineHealth is offering sign-on bonuses for Clinical Nursing Assistants (CNA):

  • 0-1 years of experience eligible for $2,500 (full time)
  • 1+ years of experience eligible for $4,000 (full time)

Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part-time CNA position. Bonus amount is prorated for Part-time hires; per diem hires are ineligible.

Current MaineHealth members are ineligible; former MaineHealth members are ineligible until more than 6 months of separation from employment.

Unit Bio:

P6 (Pavilion 6) is the 21-bed Inpatient Psychiatry unit at Maine Medical Center. It has evolved from a traditional psychiatric unit to one serving a medically complex population, with a focus on Geriatric Psychiatry. All patients have both a major psychiatric illness and a medical comorbidity requiring inpatient care. We welcome applicants from those new to Psychiatry to experienced professionals.

Position Summary:

Under supervision of Registered Professional Nurses and according to policies and procedures, performs service duties and technical tasks such as taking vital signs and assisting patients with hygiene and daily activities. Duties may vary by area, considering the specific needs and behaviors of patient populations.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  1. Education: Participates in continuing education relevant to the role.
  2. License/Certifications: Must be certified as a Nursing Assistant by the State of Maine and listed on the Maine Registry, having completed a six-week or equivalent course.
  3. Experience: CNAA experience 0-6 months. On-the-job training provided.
