Job description

We are a young charity with significant potential to make a difference in the lives of women impacted by sexual exploitation. Following years of growth and service consolidation, we now have a vacancy for a new Chief Executive Officer to lead our team of 7 and advance what we have built at Yada into the next stage of sustainable growth and impact.

Having recently established our strategic aims for the next three years, we seek a candidate with the right skills and experience to guide the charity through this exciting period.

The charity has expanded to a point where we are recruiting two positions to cover all aspects of management. The CEO will provide overarching leadership, with another management role to be decided based on the candidate’s leadership qualities and experience. This is a unique opportunity to tailor the CEO role to your skills and shape our senior management team.

We are looking for an experienced leader who can inspire, influence, and drive our vision to enhance our profile and impact within the Violence Against Women and Girls sector and beyond.

The Yada CEO is responsible for ensuring adherence to the charity's vision and mission, as well as strategic direction and overall management.

Line Manager: Yada Chair of Trustees

Hours/Days: Flexible (21–35 hours per week)

Contract: One-year fixed term, with potential extension depending on funding

Location: Yada Offices, West Worthing/Chichester

Yada is a Christian charity founded on Christian principles, and there is a genuine occupational requirement that the CEO be a Christian.

Current responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring compliance with Yada's vision & mission
  • Line management of senior staff
  • Hosting monthly team meetings
  • Attending quarterly Trustee meetings and providing updates
  • Serving as the point of contact for Trustees
  • Overseeing evaluation of Yada projects for Trustees
  • Preparing the Trustees' Annual Report
  • Managing the Charity Commission relationship
  • Ensuring legal compliance including Data Protection, GDPR, Equality, DBS, Health & Safety

Strategy and Development:

  • Leading organizational strategy development
  • Identifying new areas of work
  • Evaluating pilot projects and planning future initiatives
  • Overseeing Yada’s long-term vision

Finance:

  • Leading financial decisions and compliance
  • Managing budgets, payroll, pensions, invoices, grants, investments, Gift Aid, and independent examinations
  • Preparing financial reports
  • Leading fundraising efforts, including grant applications, events, and sponsorships
  • Developing relationships with funders and monitoring/reporting on funding

Networking:

  • Representing Yada at network opportunities
  • Overseeing network development with local businesses and communities

Operations:

  • Reviewing and monitoring Yada’s operations
  • Ensuring operational alignment with strategic goals
  • Maintaining systems and processes
  • Managing relationships with collaborators
  • Recruiting, training, and inducting staff and volunteers
  • Identifying training and development needs

Safeguarding:

  • Acting as Safeguarding Lead
  • Overseeing safeguarding processes and reporting to Trustees

Policy:

  • Overseeing policy development and review
  • Ensuring legal compliance and managing risk assessments

Communications:

  • Overseeing the communication strategy
