CONTRACT TYPE: Permanent

HOURS OF WORK: Shift pattern, 12 hours days and nights (Mon-Sun), averaging 42 hours per week, with additional hours possible to meet operational needs

SALARY: £16.39 per hour plus shift allowance and potential for overtime

A vacancy has arisen for a Centrifuge & Telehandler Operator to join our team within the Yorkshire Water contract based in York.

The role involves supporting sludge handling and movements at wastewater treatment sites within Yorkshire. The candidate will manage centrifuge control, adjust running parameters, check for faults, and adhere to Yorkshire Water policies and procedures.

Flexibility is essential as there may be a need to travel between sites and work varying hours based on operational demands. Safe working practices and good operational standards are required.

Yorkshire Water provides essential water and wastewater services across Yorkshire, operating 24/7, 365 days a year, contributing to regional health, wellbeing, and prosperity.

The role includes the following duties:

1. Operate centrifuges, conveyors, and poly make-up plant.
2. Conduct telehandler operations.
3. Monitor equipment for safe and efficient operation; address issues like blockages and system failures.
4. Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping of work areas and equipment.
5. Perform daily checks on equipment; report defects and consumables needs.
6. Monitor product throughput.
7. Perform additional trained tasks, such as greasing.
