Job description

Context
The parish of All Saints, Four Oaks is seeking a Church Centre Manager to support us in our mission and ministry. As a church, we are committed to our vision of demonstrating the love of God and sharing the Good News of Jesus with all those we encounter.

Overview of the Role

The PCC of All Saints Four Oaks are looking for a Centre Manager who will prioritise the formulation and implementation of a business strategy plan for increasing the revenue and usage of our Church Centre, which has a licensed and fully stocked bar. In this, they will be supported by the Church Centre Committee and accountable to the PCC, as Trustees. The successful candidate will also be responsible for ongoing facilities management of the Centre and our purpose-built Community Building; and they will be a line manager for other paid and voluntary members of the team.

Qualities and Skills

  • Good interpersonal skills and the confidence to welcome visitors, deal in a friendly and sensitive way with enquiries.
  • The capacity to build and develop the Centre usage by and for the community, within a shared vision, and to work towards increasing its revenue and sustainability.
  • Excellent administrative and organisation skills.
  • A working knowledge of financial systems and processes involved in running a business and a willingness to learn new skills in this area.
  • A good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook and, preferably of Hall Master – the software package used in the management of Centre bookings.
  • An understanding of social media and how to make the most of it in marketing the Centre.
  • Experience or willingness to learn skills in managing a team of employed staff and volunteers.
  • Experience in facilities management and the necessary tasks required, within this.
  • Flexibility to cope with changing demands, manage priorities, and use personal initiative.
  • The post holder is to be in sympathy with the Christian Ethos and Values

Qualifications

  • Experience of facilities management and/or business strategy
  • GCSE’s in English and Mathematics (Grade A-C ) or equivalent
  • Experience of bar management
  • Level 3 Diploma in facilities management or equivalent

Details of Role

Working Hours: 37 hours per week (flexible - to include evenings and weekends, where
necessary for the needs of the Centre)

Rate of pay: £27,000 per annum
