People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Centre Lathe Machinist for our well-established client based in Wolverhampton.

Your benefits as a Lathe Machinist are:

• Weekly pay

Day to Day Duties:

As a Lathe Machinist, your duties will be, but not limited to:

• Centre lathe turner manufacturing carbon and stainless-steel flanges using conventional lathes (not CNC)
• Tolerances are not close as in +/- .010” but wider up to +/- 1mm
• Main operations are face, edge and boring of profiled carbon steel blank
• Setting and operating a range of radial drills – from 3´ to 10´ capacity

Skills needed to be a Lathe Machinist with our client are:

• Basic level of English
• Reliable and punctual
• Must be able to set and operate with the minimum of supervision
• Must be conversant with the setting of Pitch Circle Diameters (PCD), for flange drilling, using a rotary table
• Must be able to set and operate with minimum of supervision, therefore must be experienced in setting both feeds and speeds of radial drills
• Must be experienced in setting both feeds and speeds of lathe

• Single point thread cutting training provided
