As Centre Coordinator you will play a pivotal role in the Centre team, providing coordination, planning, support and administrative assistance across the Centre, reporting to the Centre Manager (York) and also working closely with Communications & Engagement Officer (Leeds), as well as the Centre’s academic leadership and core research staff team (York/Leeds). The post holder will work closely with a range of key internal and external stakeholders at all levels. You will be comfortable working independently and proactively to take forward key projects and areas of Centre work, with minimal supervision. Such aspects of the role include the Centre’s programme of awarding small grants to Early Career Researchers, as well as coordinating training and capacity building and policy engagement activities, including the organisation of workshops, meetings and, importantly, dissemination and knowledge exchange events. You will also support the Centre Manager in monitoring and evaluating progress of projects and the overall programme of work against plans, and compiling reports on progress for key stakeholders.

  • Experience in arranging, servicing and facilitating meetings and events (e.g., preparation of programmes/agendas, coordinating invitations, enquiring, making reservations and acting as key liaison with venues, effective communication with contributors and delegates, organising and booking travel, taking minutes)
  • Good planning and organisational skills with a good attention to detail, including the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
