About this role

We have 4 positions available at the Centre for Sport. All year / Term Time only and Sunday hours. 2 vacancies under a fixed 2 week rota pattern, Sunday shifts can be fixed or alternate within the 2 week rota pattern.

Posts and schedules
  • Post 1 – All Year – Week 1 Tue & Fri 14:40-22:10, Week 2 Tue 14:40-22:10; Fri 07:00-15:00
  • Post 2 – Term Time Only – Wed/Thu 15:00-21:00; Fri 15:00-20:00 (both weeks)
  • Post 3 – All Year – Sun 08:50-14:35 (both weeks)
  • Post 4 – All Year – Sun 14:20-20:20 (both weeks)
Role purpose and responsibilities
  • Ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of UWE Bristol Sport facilities and activity programmes.
  • Provide front-line customer service and essential administrative support to the UWE Bristol Sport Operations team.
  • Support the setup and takedown of equipment, supervise customer use of facilities, and assist with the coordination of bookings and memberships.
  • Deliver a professional, friendly, and customer-focused service to students, staff, and visitors, contributing to a positive first impression of UWE Bristol Sport.
  • Uphold Health & Safety standards and ensure compliance with relevant operational procedures to maintain a safe environment for all users.

  • Enthusiastic about sport and passionate about delivering excellent customer service.
  • Able to work in a customer-facing environment and communicate confidently with a diverse range of people, including university staff, students, and members of the public.
  • Outgoing and positive with the ability to demonstrate initiative, an understanding of equal opportunities, and a commitment to an inclusive and welcoming environment.

This post is based at our Frenchay campus, where we have invested in facilities and resources to support staff and students.
