Job description

Join to apply for the Centre Activities Co-ordinator role at Alzheimer Scotland

Contract: 1x permanent, part-time position, 28 hours per week

Location: Unit 2, Strothers Lane, Inverness, IV1 1LR

Alzheimer Scotland, Scotland's national dementia charity, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Centre Activities Co-ordinator to join our team on a part-time basis. As a Centre Activities Co-ordinator, you will play a vital role in developing and delivering our brain health and dementia support programs at our centre in Inverness.

This role is inspired by the pioneer, Alois Alzheimer, who first identified the brain disease now recognized as the leading cause of dementia. By building a range of engaging and supportive services in the heart of the community, the Centre Activities Co-ordinator will support people to access:

  • Advice - our expert advisors can offer one-to-one help with building cognitive resilience, managing money matters, and legal issues.
  • Listening - we offer places to be heard, whenever help is needed.
  • Opportunities - to connect, learn, and share with others in similar situations.
  • Information - on all stages of the brain health journey, whether worried about brain health or living with dementia.
  • Support - a safe environment with trusted staff who understand what individuals are going through.

As a Centre Activities Co-Ordinator, you'll collaborate closely with the Centre Manager to create a comprehensive program of activities aligned with our ALOIS principles. You'll liaise with stakeholders from Health and Social Care, NHS, and the wider community to enhance service delivery and raise awareness about brain health.

Your responsibilities include greeting visitors, managing administrative tasks, producing monthly activity programs, promoting these programs, and supporting the daily operation of the centre. You'll also handle donations and fundraising monies following policies and procedures.

To succeed, you should have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with a passion for supporting individuals affected by dementia. Familiarity with health and safety regulations, and proficiency in office software and IT systems, are essential.

If you are committed to our vision of ensuring nobody faces dementia alone, apply now. Relevant experience working with people with dementia and a willingness to participate in training are advantages.
