About The Role
Working Hours: 35 hours per week including evening and weekend working as required
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Additional Payments: Casual Car Allowance

This role is subject to 2 References - where possible we require 3 years' employment history.
Casual Car Documentation: The successful candidate will be a designated Casual Car User which means that car journeys may be necessary on an occasional basis, but are not essential to the role. If you do drive, you must always hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car for use at work, as well as provide all the appropriate documentation. You will receive an allowance per mile of business use.
Manchester Central Library is the most visited public library in the country, attracting a diverse range of residents as well as being a visitor attraction for people from outside the city, the region and the country. The library provides a warm welcome to everyone, including families, children and young people, aspiring entrepreneurs and visitors to the city. The library includes a busy lending library, reference collections, Internet computers and study spaces, with other key parts of the library offer being the numerous performance and exhibition spaces, popular music, business libraries, and an exciting children’s library. The library hosts the library live cultural programme of activities and events, and is a key part of the civic quarter in the city centre.
We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled, experience, customer focussed manager to lead the team and help shape delivery of this unique and much loved library. The role of Central Library Manager is responsible for operational delivery of the Central Library. It is vital to delivering a consistent, high quality, customer-focussed programme and library service for residents and visitors.
