Job summary

Moray Council in Buckie is recruiting Cemetery Operatives to undertake, individually or as part of a team, all duties involved in the burial of the dead. The role covers grounds maintenance, guiding the public, and operating basic plant and tools on site.

Candidates should have experience with mechanical excavators or be willing to train, a good grasp of health and safety, and strong communication. A full driving licence and the ability to work in all weather with heavy manual work are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience of mechanical excavator or willingness to undertake certified training.
• An awareness of Health & Safety.
• Numerate and literate as accurate record keeping is required.
• Willingness to undertake Cemetery Operatives Training Schemes.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Full current driving licence.
• Ability to communicate politely and with sensitivity to members of the public.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions to carry out heavy manual work.
• Flexible attitude as some overtime working required.
